Lot 32 A rare Patrick Kelly pool ball dress, Autumn-Winter 1988-89

labelled, the wool jersey ground embellished with large domed decorative buttons resembling pool balls, with mock neck, bust approx 86cm 34in

This was a special one-off dress made for an Aids event, though he later made one or two other examples.

the bottom yellow pool ball is missing and has been replaced with a flat disc. slight glue residue from edge of top orange ball, top purple ball, and top red ball. Small darns to right cuff area (with pinhead moth hole at cuff rear), lower right skirt area, rear right collar, top of rear left sleeve, rear waist area, and lower right skirt area along with a pinhead moth hole. Numerous tiny darns and occasional pinhead moth holes long rear right side seam area, rear left armhole seam needs restitching approx 1cm (minor)

None of the darn repairs and pinhead moth holes are immediatley noticable.
